Legal Notice for Dishonor (dishonour, bouncing) of Cheque may be send through any means of post, courier, fax, e-mails etc., however, it is always better to send the legal notice for Dishonor (dishonour, bouncing) of Cheque through Registered Post or Under Postal Certificate or Speed Post.
     Legal Presumption of Due Service is available if the Drawer intentionally avoids the receipt of Legal Notice sent through Registered Post or Under Postal Certificate or Speed Post.



Q6. What is the time period for the payment of amount involved in the Dishonored (dishonoured, bounced) Cheque / Check by the Drawer?

Drawer of the cheque can make the payment of the amount involved in the Dishonored (dishonoured, bounced) cheque within Fifteen (15) days from the date of receipt of legal notice of demand.



Q7. I have received a Legal Notice of Demand regarding Dishonor (dishonour, bouncing) of Cheque / Check, What to do?

A.
    
You can pay to the Holder of the Cheque the amount involved in the Dishonored (dishonoured, bounced) Cheque within fifteen days of the receipt of the Legal Notice of Demand; or
     You can hire the services of an Advocate and send through him Reply to the said Legal Notice of Demand mentioning the reasons why you are not liable to pay the amount involved in the Dishonored (dishonoured, bounced) Cheque.
