Q1. Why you need Marriage Certificate from Marriage Registrar?

   You have already performed your ceremonial Hindu Marriage, Arya Samaj Mandir Marriage, Anand Marriage in a Gurudwara, Muslim Marriage, Christian Marriage, and by way of proof of your marriage, you have marriage photographs, marriage video, Arya Samaj Certificate or Gurudwara Certificate or Nikah Nama or Church Marriage Certificate,
     Your Hindu Marriage, Arya Samaj Mandir Marriage, Anand Marriage in a Gurudwara, Muslim Marriage, Christian Marriage is perfectly legal and valid all over India, however, by way of proofs of your marriage,
           Many institutions even in India do not accept your marriage photographs, marriage video, Arya Samaj Certificate or Gurudwara Certificate or Nikah Nama or Church Marriage Certificate;
           Further, foreign embassies in India and foreign countries outside India  do not recognise your marriage as legal and valid,
           And hence, you need to apply and get your Marriage Certificate from Marriage Registrar / Marriage Officer, that is, from some Government Statutory Bodies, so that your marriage becomes legal and valid not only in India but all over the world, and in case of need you can provide copies of marriage certificate issued by Marriage Registrar / Marriage Officer by way of conclusive proof of your marriage.
     While applying for Spouse VISA, the foreign Embassies ask for Marriage Certificate. And Hence, if a husband or wife want to travel outside India on spouse visa then Marriage Registration Certificate is a must, or
     If the persons want to get married against the Will of their Elders and Family Members – Marriage Certificate provide protection against false and fraudulent Civil as well as Criminal cases filed by the warring elders and family members of the spouses such as Missing, Abduction, Kidnapping, Rape etc.
     In the unhappy circumstances of disputes (whether civil or criminal) between the spouses relating to divorce, dowry, maintenance and other cases, Marriage Certificate provide protection against false denial of marriage by either of the spouses.




Q1. How I can get my Marriage Certificate from Marriage Registrar / Marriage Officer?

   You need to either perform Court Marriage or apply for registration of already performed Hindu Marriage or Arya Samaj Mandir Marriage or Anand Marriage or Muslim Marriage or Christian Marriage or marriage performed in any other forms before a Marriage Registrar to get your Marriage Certificate from Marriage Registrar / Marriage Officer,
     Special Marriage Act and Rules made under it provides for Court Marriage and issuance of Marriage Certificate for which no prior Ceremonial Marriage need to be performed.
     Hindu Marriage Act and Rules made under it provides for Registration of an already performed Hindu Marriage, Arya Samaj Mandir Marriage, Anand Marriage in a Gurudwara before a Marriage Registrar to get Marriage Certificate,
     Special Marriage Act and Rules made under it provides for Registration of an already performed Muslim Marriage, Christian Marriage, and marriage performed in any other forms to get Marriage Certificate.



Q6. How much time / days the Marriage Registrar takes for issuing Marriage Certificate?

A.


     In Hindu Marriage, Arya Samaj Mandir Marriage, Anand Marriage, Marriage Registrar may take from 1 day to 90 days for issuing Marriage Certificate which depends upon many factors.
     In Muslim Marriage, Christian Marriage, and marriages performed in any other forms, Marriage Registrar may take from 31 days to 90 days for issuing Marriage Certificate which depends upon many factors.
     In Court Marriage, Marriage Registrar may take from 31 days to 90 days for issuing Marriage Certificate which depends upon many factors.
